Irfan Rydhan is a San Jose–based community entrepreneur, cultural event producer, and founder of HalalFest. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Architecture, Irfan began his career in Architectural Design and then later in media, launching a video production company in 1998 that produced documentaries and corporate content, and later hosting a Bay Area community television talk show.
For more than 25 years, Irfan has been a leading organizer of innovative American Muslim cultural events and programs. He has created numerous first-of-their-kind initiatives in California, including the Muslim Film Festival, Muslim Unity Day at California's Great America, the Halal Food & Eid Festival, Muslim Bridal Expo, Halal Restaurant Week, Suhoor Fest, and Muslim Heritage Night with the Golden State Warriors. He has also organized Muslim Community Night events with the San Francisco 49ers, San Jose Sharks and the Oakland A's.
In 2012, he founded HalalFest, one of the largest halal food festivals in the United States. The inaugural event in 2013 attracted over 10,000 attendees and generated significant Bay Area media coverage. Today, HalalFest has grown into a nationally recognized platform celebrating halal food, culture, and community.
