With 20+ years in the music festival business, Mark Lord has worked, supported and participated in many music festivals around the country including Coachella, Stagecoach, Bourbon & Beyond and Aftershock, to name a few.

Mark Lord started off in the music business like many others – in a rock band.  After graduating college with a BA degree in Political Science, International Relations, Mark moved to Hollywood and attended music school, where he also learned some valuable lessons about the music business.

Mark started off in the festival world via “trial by fire” where he was tasked with heading the festival portion of a KROQ radio festival in Southern California.  Handling aspects of the front of house areas including activities, sponsors, retail and food vendors (essentially a carnival midway) Mark quickly excelled at understanding what it takes to run the fan experiential portion of a festival.

Continuing to work with overall festival production and booking club shows, Mark later started his own full service special event and festival production company called Funkyard Music Fest - eventually organizing his own music festival of the same name, where he self-produced and booked the one day, 2 stage festival.

Mark has history with event & health permitting, site planning, fire safety, outside vendor procurement & management, food & beverage, sponsorship activation & buildout, retail & art vendor procurement as well as staff management.  Mark’s years of knowledge and experience makes him a great resource for music festival teams old and new.
