Grammy and Emmy nominated; J. Kevin Swain has had the honor capturing history as it is happening. His documentary on the landmark series “Soul Train” led him to his present endeavor in presenting the African American Cultural Legacy in Paris, a four-part documentary on The King of R&B Bobby Brown and the chronicles of a Go-Go band in Ghana.

A celebrated contributor to the history of Hip Hop, he is responsible for some the most iconic images to date. Starting with Eazy-E’s “We Want Eazy!”, The infamous Source Awards (yes “The South Has Something to Say!” & “Y’all Ain’t Got No Love for Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg?”), the concert film “The Show”, The “Up in Smoke” concert DVD, most of Tupac’s Death Row Videos, Kanye West’s “Sunday Service” just to name a few.

Swain’s catalogue of work includes Quincy Jones, Outkast, Snoop, Tyler The Creator, Dr Dre, Steve Aoki, Robert Glasper, Aretha Franklin, D-Smoke, Chaka Khan, Kanye West, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Patti LaBelle, George Benson, Biggie Smalls, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Queen Latifah, Stevie Wonder and many others. Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, his travels have taken him throughout Europe, South America, The Caribbean, and Africa.
