Vivian believes events can do more than entertain — they can be powerful platforms for inspiring much-needed social change. After more than a decade in event production, she grew tired of seeing events create more environmental impact in a single day than she felt she could in a lifetime. Through her company, Ascendance Sustainable Events, she has developed comprehensive sustainability programs for large-scale festivals, conferences, and venues — diverting hundreds of thousands of pounds of waste, reducing climate impacts, and creating educational campaigns that extend far beyond event gates.

Vivian envisions an events industry that leads the world in how to take better care of our planet. She is best known for her role as Ultra Music Festival’s Director of Sustainability, where she created the award-winning Mission: Home program, recognized for its positive impact on the local community and its reach of over 8 million people worldwide.
