Skye McLennan is the Executive Director of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, based in San Luis Obispo, California. With over 15 years of experience in film festivals, she has held various roles at prestigious events such as the Sundance Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, and Tribeca Film Festival. In addition to her festival work, she has an extensive background in production design, contributing to short films, feature films, advertisements, music videos, and documentaries.
Passionate about the transformative power of film and community engagement, Skye has led the festival to new heights. Under her leadership, it has been recognized as one of the world’s coolest film festivals and has become an Academy Award-qualifying festival for documentary shorts.
In July 2024, she played a key role in launching the Palm Theatre as the SLO Film Center, the only nonprofit independent movie house in San Luis Obispo County dedicated to celebrating film and supporting filmmakers.
Skye holds a B.A. in Cinema from San Francisco State University.
