After decades navigating the high-stakes world of Hollywood as Chief Counsel for Walt Disney Studios, Steve Bardwil traded legal briefs for guitar riffs. 

Bardwil formed the Steve Bardwil Band in 2015 as a celebration of music, of love, of friendship. His band is made up of stellar musicians, from different generations and backgrounds. Together, they are a diverse musical family who live to rock. Steve sees the band as a pure collaboration, without ego. Everyone’s contributions are welcome. 

In 2025, Bardwil and band released their debut album Nothing But Time, a deeply personal, collaboratively-created album produced by the multi-Grammy® winner Joe Chiccarelli. The album, Nothing But Time, is a rich set of eleven captivating songs that blends Americana, alternative rock, soul and blues to brilliant effect. 

Nothing But Time, is one of those rare treats in music: a first-listen winner that demands repeated plays. The Steve Bardwil Band includes Johnny Stachela (guitar), Max Butler (keyboards, vocals), Vince Fossett (drums) and Aaron Leibowitz (saxophone, flutes), Catherine Jayne (vocals), and the newest member of the band, Frank Coglitore (bass). 

While gigging steadily since the release of Nothing But Time, the band hasn’t stopped writing. For Bardwil, writing is a cathartic process as well as artistic expression - a process that yields songs drawn from his own personal experiences and expansion. 

As the band are now back in the studio recording new music, Bardwil’s vision is clear. He continues to string together a robust repertoire of songs blending new colorful stories into his vibrant mosaic exploring environmental and spiritual consciousness woven within the essence of the human condition steeping in self-reflection and wisdom. 

With his creative compass set toward optimism and connection, Bardwils’ music avoids melancholia in favor of inspiration; crafting songs that uplift without preaching, both timeless and contemporary, echoing Bardwil’s deep respect for rock traditions while employing modern studio craftsmanship. Indicative of their versatility, the Steve Bardwil Band have performed alongside everyone from Lyle Lovett, Robert Randolph, Jim Messina, Eddie Money, and Donavan Frankenreiter to Robby Krieger of The Doors and the late Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers, among many others. 

Bardwil and the band are excited to once again be working with Chiccarelli at East West Studios in Los Angeles and look forward to releasing new music in the coming months.
